Titans name team captains

The Titans have announced their team captains for the 2023 season. There are some returning players who have shown they are paramount to the teams success. Also some new faces this year. Keep in mind these are selected by the other players on the team, so these players have earned the respect of their peers.

Coach Mike Vrabel announced who they were during a press conference before Wednesday’s practice. Vrabel told the other players earlier in the week.

Here is a list of the player selected:

Quarterback – Ryan Tannehill – He has been selected as a captain every year since 2020

Running Back – Derrick Henry – He has been selected as a captain every year since 2020

Center – Aaron Brewer – This is first year as a captain. To me this shows his growth as a player and teammate.

Safety – Kevin Byard – He has been selected as a captain every year since 2019

Defensive Lineman – Jeffery Simmons – He has been selected as a captain every year since 2021

Linebacker – Azeez Al-Shaair – This is his first year with the Titans which says a lot considering the player of the team voted him a captain.

Long Snapper – Morgan Cox – This is his 14th NFL season and his 3rd with the Titans. He is well deserving of the title as he is a five time Pro Bowler and one of the best long snappers in the NFL.
