Lamar Jackson Isn’t Worth The Cost For the Titans!

Good morning/afternoon/evening everybody…Today I come in peace…Monday night I made a series of post in the Tennessee Titans Elite Facebook group stating facts about Lamar Jackson in comparison to Ryan Tannehill…Those facts were not in favor of Lamar Jackson but in my last post, I said if I had to choose between the 2, I would choose Lamar because he has an elite element in his game…I wouldn’t give up 2 1st round draft picks and over $200M for him though.

I’m not into giving up multiple resources for a slight upgrade at QB…I don’t consider Lamar an elite QB…Honestly, my criteria for an elite QB is tough because it’s the hardest/most important position in football…For me a QB has to have at least 1 SB win, consistently have their team in the playoffs no matter what, and be ranked amongst the best in the league in most categories…Based on my criteria, it’s only 2 elite QBs in the league, Mahomes and Rodgers.

Elite QBs also play in big games and rarely miss games…Lamar has been injured the last 2 seasons…He got knocked out of the 2021 playoff game against Buffalo and chose not to play in last season’s playoff game against the Ravens’ AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals…A few years ago, Mariota chose not to play in a win and in playoff game…A lot of fans turned on Mariota that day…I see some of the same fans defending Lamar and lobbying for him to come to TN after pulling the same stunt…An elite caliber QB isn’t missing a playoff game unless they straight up can’t walk or throw the football.

This isn’t about me not wanting Lamar in favor of Tannehill…Tannehill got 1 more year and he’s out of here in my opinion…This is me saying I’m not into giving up multiple resources for a slight upgrade at QB…I would much rather give up multiple resources to move up in the draft and take a chance on a rookie QB than to give up multiple resources for a slightly better QB than what we have now that probably has 3-4 more good years left in him based off the history of his style of play.

Marvin Harrison made me a fan. I had a chance to see him play at Syracuse while visiting family. Watching him play was exciting and really got me into football. When he got drafted to Indy, that’s when I became a fan.
